If your smartphone or tablet was made earlier than 2015, then I doubt that your device has the video game emoji. The reason why I say this is because it was not part of Emoji 1.0 until 2015. You can try using the short code :video_game: in your messages to see if it works. Sadly, mine did not. If it doesn't work for you then it could mean that your device does not support the video game emoji.
