Do you want to know about the different options for storing video game controllers? I personally just put my video game controllers in the drawer inside my coffee table close to the TV however, you can store video game controllers in several ways. (However, if you would rather display them, read 4 Websites for Controller Display Stands.) Let's explore some of the solutions.
Entertainment Centers
Entertainment centers are a great way to store your games, controllers, and consoles. There are several out there varying in design, color, material, cost, and size.
They have storage space by using drawers, cabinets, and shelves. That way you can display what you what, and store what you don't. Many have cord cutouts or grommet holes for cord management.
One great entertain center is the Simpli Home 3AXCACTTS. It's very stylish and it is perfect if you are looking for the more rustic look in your game room. Very nice. Here are the specifications.
Wide 53 inch entertainment center that holds TVs up to 55 inches
Made From Acadian Solid Wood
Open adjustable shelf with cord management cutouts which is awesome because cutting these out is a pain
2 drawers
2 door side cabinets
Open center with two adjustable shelves and cord management cutouts which, again, is awesome.
If this entertainment center sounds perfect for you, you can get it straight from Amazon. If not, don't worry as there are tons of options.
Another great option is the Sauder Harbor View Corner Entertainment Credenza. It's another entertainment center with a rustic feel. Still stylish and still very nice. Here is what it offers.
Holds up to a 60" Tv weighing 95 lbs.
2 adjustable shelves
2 adjustable corner display shelves
Drawers have metal runners and safety stops
Cord management grommet hole, which is always a plus
Antiqued Paint Finish, hence the rustic feel
Material is engineered wood
This one is also available via Amazon.
If none of these piqued your interest, you can still click on the link to Amazon and use these entertainments as a starting point to your search. As I said, there are tons of them out there so find one that meets your needs if you want to go with the entertainment center route.
Usage of Drawer Space
Coffee tables, entertainment centers, and end tables typically have drawers on them. If you do have the drawer space, use them especially if you have young children that like to grab and chew on items within reach. You can use child protective locks on the drawers to keep the controllers safe from harm. It would be no good if a child chewed on and ruined a wired controller.
They can, as well as others can trip on all the wiring if you do not store the controllers very well. That's another safety issue.
Overage of Controllers
Don't have enough space for all your consoles, games and video game controllers even with large entertainment centers? If there are any that you just don't use anymore and is just collecting dust, read "Can you Recycle Video Game Controllers" for solutions.
Organization without Drawers
Maybe you already have an entertainment center but you ran out of drawer space? One way to store them out of sight is to use the shoe organizers that hang behind your bedroom door. Organize them by console, color or however you prefer. If your controllers are wired, big and/or bulky I would not recommend this method as it might wear out the wires.
If you have a lot of wires and cords from video game controllers and consoles that are exposed and cannot be stored you can use a cord sleeve like JOTO Cord Management System. This would cover your cords making your game room safer and protect your cords from damage. The details are as such:
Flexible neoprene cable sleeve that zips up
Solution manages and conceals cables while providing easy access
Sleeve can hold up to 8-10 cables
19 to 20 inches long
These sleeves are also on Amazon and you get 4 for $12.99 (at the time of writing this). Not bad, but there are other options as well. Click on the link, review and compare your options!
Ottomans
Ottomans are another great way to store video game controllers and games while the ottoman itself is used as various things like footrests, benches, coffee tables, and puppy steps. Every gamer needs a best friend after all.
If your game room could use an ottoman, especially if you do not have a recliner, go ahead and get one. You can store controllers in an ottoman and relax your legs at the same time.
A good one is SONGMICS Folding Storage Ottoman Bench
https://amzn.to/33329jF It comes in many colors and:
Faux Leather
Volume of 120 liters
Ottoman bench holds up to 660lbs
Seats 2-3 adults
Can be folded flat when not needed
43"L x 15"W x 15"H (110 x 38 x 38cm)
This is also on Amazon if this ottoman is the one for your gamer hideout.
Another good option is the Christopher Knight Home Rothwell Brown Leather Storage Ottoman Bench. This ottoman even looks more like a seating unit than the previous one. This ottoman is:
19. 50 inches deep x 50. 85 inches wide x 17. 00 inches high
Does not require assembly
Has storage space for your games and controllers
Weight is 39.7 pounds
This one is also on Amazon from the manufacturer, Christopher Knight. It is very stylish and elegant but if that isn't your style, there are tons more on Amazon!
Whatever you choose, instead of just throwing your controllers in there, buy some organizers that fit to neatly organize your controllers. You can easily go to the Dollar Store and buy baskets to help sort your items.
