Can You Bring Video Game Controllers on a Plane

Updated: Sep 9, 2019

Can You Bring Video Game Controllers on a Plane
A plane

Yes, yes you can. You are allowed to bring personal electronics on the plane with you or in your checked luggage. If video game systems are allowed to be brought then you definitely need a controller, unless it is a handheld of course. You may want to have the controller with you instead of in checked luggage because it can get tossed around due to being loaded on and unloaded from the plane.

What is not allowed to bring with you

According to the united website, you can't bring explosives, compressed gases, oxidizers, corrosives, flammable liquids and solids, loaded firearms, radioactive materials, poisons, ready to eat meals (MREs), paints, mace/tear gas, lighter fluid, oxygen bottles, fireworks, bleach, drain cleaners, epoxy, fuel, gel fuel, glue, insecticides, torch lighters, spray starch, strike-anywhere matches and certain aerosols, and other related items.

Some items have special requirements like lithium batteries, deodorant, hairspray, nail polish, perfume, liquid nitrogen and certain medicines. If you need a complete list read their Dangerous Goods article.

You can bring video games, consoles and video game controllers on the plane. If you need to choose a good wireless controller for your beloved system, look at our reviews page.
